If there is one species that Jersey is famous for, it is the Bass.  Jersey is a dramatic hunting ground for this supreme predator.

Boat fishing for Bass is one of the best ways to catch big ones, most fishing is done in the shallows and gullies of the inshore reefs.

Jersey is visited by high numbers of migratory fish each year, but also has its own resident population of indigenous stock, and these factors combine to provide some of the finest Bass, Black bream, Conger, Dogfish, Mackerel and sole plaice and flounder fishing to be found anywhere in Europe.

Tidal ranges in Jersey are some of the highest in the world, with levels rising and falling up to forty feet. Because of the large tidal range you can sometimes actually examine the ground over which you intend to fish when the tide retreats
